MIKLOSKO SS18 – BACKSTAGE

Fashion show can be a fascinating experience, it depends what angle you look at it from though.

As a guest of the show (hopefully in a front row!) several months of designer’s work flashes in front of your eyes in 20 minutes. After the show you rush to the bar right for the free bubbles to cheer with you bestie and chat about dresses you desperately want, but can’t afford.
As a model you wait around all day for your hair and makeup to be done and you can’t wait for the whole thing to be finally over. Right after the the end you can’t wait to light up your slim cigarette, ignoring the afterparty and going either straight downtown to meet your friends for a cheap drink, or go home to study for your exams.
And then there is backstage. A specific place with a completely different vibe. In order to experience it’s full beauty and atmosphere you can’t be a designer or a model…you must be a viewer, soak it up and just watch the transformations of the simple girls to muses with perfect hair and makeup in dresses you are going to dream about for weeks.

I have experienced all of these situations and being a part of the backstage crew is definitely the strongest (and my personal favourite) experience of  them all.

MIKLOSKO’s shows are always da bomb. After missing the last two due to my travels I marked this one in my calendar several months ago. To miss an oportunity to do an exclusive report from backstage? Never! Little did I know how powerful this experience will end up being.

One of the magic things of backstage is to witness the transformations of the models to super divas. You see their makeover in the hands of the best hairdressers and makeup artists, dressing up in looks they have fitted before yet there are alway last minute changes done.

Which bag? Belt? Gitters or no glitters? Pass me the sock! Come on!

MIKLOSKO SS18 collection consisted out of two very different lines, but with certain style similarities.

First one called #MKLSK focuses more on generation Y. The younger hip crowd loves the hashtag, wants to stand out from the grey street style average, yet not too much. The black and white combo is simple, yet trendy and the pieces are manageable to wear together without looking over-styled.The bags screamed glitter and the fanny packs were to die for… I know what I am getting myself for my b-day! <3

The second line is a completely different cup of coffee. ROCKABILLY CHIC had except MIKLOSKO’s signature also a touch of the 1970s. Sequin chiffon, pleated eco-leather, glitter makeup matching the shoes, socks in heels… Sounds like too much? It was, but in the best possible sense.

Zuzana Kanisova put the collection with her styling to a completely different level and everyone was stunned when seeing the result on the runway – including myself!

MIKLOSKO always finishes his show with a wedding dress. This time he went for a completely different ending though – it was still a wedding attire, just not a gown. The black embelished tuxedo with a country hat, a short vail and glitter makeup, walked by his blond muse Viktoria was the perfect last drop of his Spring – Summer 2018 collection.

I love shocking and endings with a statement. How about you?

Love,
