I don’t have the “usual” office days. But I do have days when I want to dress the part for a meeting and let go of my usual work attire – jeans and a tee. There used to be times when I wore the classic office pant with a suit jacket, or a pencil skirt with a blouse… It’s so not me anymore!
Breaking the rules in dressing is one of my favourite things to do. It’s quite known that wearing two oversized pieces together can create an oversized disaster. Well, I tried. And it worked!
I’ve had this GANT jacket since last season and I wore it till the last day it was bearable to do so (it’s made out of wool, so the wear & die effect in heat is guaranteed, lol). Pants of this cut however had their premiere. I’ve discovered them at Zara just recently and I have been wearing them several times a week. Cream color, great cut providing freedom, big pockets .. probably the most versatile in my Summer closet right now.
So what are the rules of combining two oversized pieces?
Both need to have a perfect fit, even when not fitted.
The jacket must look like it was tailor made (even when oversized) and the cropped pant needs to be made out of fabric from the same category as the jacket. Always wear closed shoes. Classy purse.
Ready. Go.
Have a great weekend loves!
Love, Jana xo
