We used to march the streets because we had to. Now we march because we want to!
This is how Ludwig Bagin, well known town troubadour, started this year’s Fashion March. The fifth year of this event has kicked off on May 1st. It’s main mission is to bring fashion to the streets and bring it closer to general public. The streets of Bratislava became the biggest and longest runway filled with colors, design and creativity.
During the previous years I was always just a viewer, but this year I got invited by a local designer Petra Kovacsova to walk the marsh in one of her designs. Me and Petra have known each other for a while now and I worn one of her amazing designs at MB Prague Fashion Week (see HERE). I was marching in a group of three designers from VŠVU Atelier 343 together with other Slovak fashion elite – Barbora Kubi, Lenka Sršňová, Marcel Holubec W., Puojd, Boris Hanečka a Petra Kubíková.
I’m glad that events like this happen and remind us, that fashion does not only belong to the catwalks and shop windows, but it belongs mainly to the streets.
Since I was marching I could not take photos as I usually do, so I “borrowed” them from Iva Tomkova <3
Love,
Jana
