Do you know that feeling, when you walk into and old house and you feel like the walls could write a thousand stories? This was exactly the case when we walked into Villa. Since visiting Etna was on our list during our Sicily discovery, we booked a house twenty minute driving from the mountain. When we arrived to the location we were stunned: the little cute house was a huge stone building built in 18th century and besides being a home for their owners, it was also a functioning …
Our host Maria was a slender beautiful Italian woman. She was very welcoming and have us a short tour and interesting introduction of the house. Making wine in this beautiful space is their every year’s tradition and must be a hell of an experience! We unpacked our own wine – white, dry, bought in a supermarket and cheered to a great evening in this dreamy movie location.
The next morning I was the first one to wake up. By the time I got ready for the day, Maria prepared a massive breakfast for us with all the options you could imagine. I don’t know it’s the Italian nature, or we were just lucky, but all my airbnb hosts are extremely friendly and welcoming. We weren’t even fond of the fact that the morning meal was included, and she prepared a whole fiest! We couldn’t wish for a better start of the day.
This day and this place was perfect for wearing my then new Gant dress. I found it during sales just before the holiday and it was love at first sight (and touch!). it’s fabric is quite thick, but super soft and does not make you sweat. I wore it either as a dress, or open on my bikini by the pool and today – during colder days I wear it with my jeans and ankle boots – even under a coat (you will see this post on the blog 😉
I love timeless pieces that are not only practical, but stylish too!
Even more so when they have memories attached to them <3
Every Summer has a story … and this is one of them.
