Every year I deal with the prep of my Fashion LIVE! (the only real Slovak fashion week that we have here) outfits the same way: sometimes around mid Summer I start making visual sketches in my head with a plan of having them executed the following month. But since “September is January in fashion”, I naturally never have the time to do so, so I end up freaking out a few days before trying to pull something fashion-week-worthy together.
This year’s outfits were in a mood of “slow fashion”. It was not my initial idea, but all the circumstances lead to the fact that every outfit contained at least one vintage piece. This one had actually 3!!!
The shirt is from Bratislava’s well known second-hand store Nosene and their Renewals collection. Kika, the designer, re-makes old shirts into trendy pieces like this one. Isn’t it cool??
The coat is also from their store and it’s 100% wool. It had giant shoulder pads that I have taken out (although they did have a giant charisma!!) The lining is from polyester, it feels and looks like silk though.
My footwear you might know by know. They come from the Novesta factory and you can get them in Nosene as well, since they are made out of 2nd hand denim. Yes, you’ve heard right. Used jeans made into sneakers. I know. Genius.
The high- waist plaid trousers are my absolute fav this season. They are warm, soft, they cover all you need, and they hide absolutely everything in their big pockets (without them the pants don’t look as good). I wear these and their brown version on repeat and I’m already looking for a next pair. be careful though picking the right pair, since some cuts can make your bottom look gigantic (and we certainly don’t want that!). Also they should be cropped – like mine – to avoid looking too subtle and a bit older (we don’t want that either!)
Hope you have a great weekend keeping yourself warm and comfy. That is exactly my plan for tomorrow 😉
